Settlement is/was a band from the USA. Plays/played atmospheric black metal with a lot of classical influences, inspired by the culture of colonial America.

Reverorum ib Malacht is a band from Sweden. They became Christian around 2008. (Click the link and see the "discography" section for which releases are, and are not, Christian.) Most early material is black metal / dark ambient, while newer material has a lot more experimental influences - noise, industrial, etc.

Made versions both for the Bandcamp artwork, which is a bit brighter, and the CD version, which is a bit dimmer. I like both in their own ways!

The Crowned Virgin was a band from the USA. Their earliest release was basically metalcore, while all their other material was death/black. This particular release is actually a split with a secular band called Mountain Goat. I wasn't sure if this blog's audience would be okay with having a secular band featured on the wallpapers, so I just went with one logo for now. If someone wants versions with both logos, let me know, I can probably do it pretty easily!

The artwork is two photographs I took, photomanipulated together. I don't currently remember which ones these were. If I ever find them, I'll probably add them here. If I remember right, both of them were random bushes with snow on them that I reworked to look like mountains.
